Preliminary generation injection analysis studies identify the generation injection potential (in megawatts) at a limited number of client specified locations using a power flow base case and KRSA proprietary software. This is an excellent screening tool to assist in the preliminary selection of an interconnection point without the rigors of an open access transmission tariff (OATT) required interconnection study with the transmission provider.
Feasibility studies consider the technical viability of a project's plan of service under general prevailing system conditions. Both power flow and short circuit analyses are provided for the client's project. If the client has formally made an interconnection request this study can be performed for either the client or for the transmission provider.
The first level of Open Access Transmission Tariff (OATT) required study for an interconnection. Power flow, transient stability, post transient stability and short circuit analyses are required for such a study. A transmission provider approved base case and system data files are required in addition to a plan of service for the client's project.
